Multifunctionality and local charme

A particular challenge of this „soft“ renovation was that it required working with and around existing elements. These had to be integrated, modified and adapted, while at the same time given a new character.

To create a calm, focused atmosphere, furniture which can fulfill multiple functional requirements was designed. Despite the many demands on the relatively small area, the result is a consistent impression that facilitates the guests‘ easy orientation.

The lobby furniture allows simultaneous waiting at the front desk, display of flyers and brochures, decoration and exhibiting space for in-house products, while at the same time serving as a standing table for short meetings. Built-in sockets allow for longer work sessions on the laptop or charging of mobile phones.

The multifunctional „lounge wall“ combines display and sales showcases, a bookcase and magazine rack. A cozy atmosphere is achieved through the built-in furnace.

Mercure brand hotels always include references to regional characteristics. This is visually reflected by local symbols, like the „Rößle“, Stuttgart‘s city silhouette and vine leafs, representing the hilly vineyards of Stuttgart.
